What is Freedom? | July 4th
The dictionary defines freedom as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
The U.S. Constitution protects the rights of individuals to freedom of religion, speech, press, petition, and assembly.
But what does freedom mean to you?
Today across the U.S.A., we celebrate freedom. It may be unpopular to say, but America is a beautiful story with a history that is as imperfect as our union and facing a seminal question, how does our story continue?
During my trauma recovery, I faced the same question and discovered that my backpack full of limiting beliefs and unhealthy self-narratives restrained my story. Its mass felt normal until I unpacked it – which is something we may need to do as a country.
Back in 2004, I spent this week in the hospital. It helped me rediscover our greatest freedom and how it can assist you in rippling something worth rippling. In this week’s video, I share that story with you.
A few things before we head to our BBQs and parades,
- Between today and July 11, all Pause Breathe Reflect gear, including our Stars and Stripes Tees and Sweatshirts, is 20% off to celebrate my 20th Anniversary of My Last Bad Day.
- If you are part of our 20 Ripple Challenge, don’t order. I have something special for you on the 11th – remember I said there would be prizes.
- If you want to join our 20 Ripple Challenge, you still can.
- To celebrate my 20th anniversary next Sunday, I will be doing a Peloton ride at 1:30 with CDE. I would love to turn the pedals with you if you can. The next day my knee gets replaced.
- Oh, and don’t be a chucklehead with fireworks – make a s’more instead. They last longer and taste better.
Until next week, remember to Pause Breath Reflect and have fun storming the castle!
