The Value of Connection
Come back here next week for the answer to this Pause Breathe Reflect Connections Puzzle. Of course, you can always email me if you think you’ve got it! If you are new to Connections, here are two group examples:
• FISH: Bass, Flounder, Salmon, Trout
• Things that start with FIRE: Ant, Drill, Island, Opal
Before 1931, traveling between New Jersey (points South and West) and New York City (points North and East) was challenging. While ferries, trains, and the Holland Tunnel existed, they couldn’t handle the growing traffic. Then, in October 1931—during the Great Depression—the George Washington Bridge opened and became an essential connection.
Today, it’s the world’s busiest motor vehicle bridge, with over 100 million vehicles (and bicycles – I might add) crossing its 14 lanes across two spans annually.
The bridge reminds us that in our reactive world, where we can burn a bridge instantly, it’s better to be bold, thoughtful, and patient enough to build bridges instead.

Until next week, have fun storming the castle!
