Life is a Marathon not a Spring | Leadership Lessons from the Marathon
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I fall in love with Autumn every October with the first breeze of crisp air that blows through the trees.
Here are 20 Reasons why I fall for Fall:
- It’s a sweatshirt with manpris weather.
- Decorative gourds -c’mon who doesn’t love gourds
- Apple cider donuts – good all year, of course
- Stealing my daughters’ Halloween candy
- Route 100 in Vermont during peak foliage
- Corn mazes – except when you can’t get out
- Crisp nights by the fire pit with a s’more
- You’re not sweating a ton, am I right?
- Sprouted wheat & pumpkin breads
- Homemade soup and chili
- Cool mornings that wake you up
- Gravel bike rides in the middle of nowhere.
- That night when we get an extra hour of sleep
- Cinnamon – I really don’t think it gets enough credit.
- Letting go of the old to grow into something new
- Leaf blowers – yeah, I think not. So, scratch that. Then it has to be our One Ripple Challenge.
- Thanksgiving
- Birthdays for my Boos
- The World Series and early season football
- Fall marathons – yep, I know it’s a little odd, but they can teach us a lot about leadership. After all, life is a marathon, not a sprint, and it’s also the focus of this week’s video.
Oh, and here’s 21…
In October, I’m hosting Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Masterclasses to help you move from a stress warrior to a peaceful warrior. Space is limited, and you can secure your spot HERE.
Also, if you haven’t signed up for our One Ripple Challenge, today is the perfect day. Yes, it started on September 20th, but you can join today and start rippling something worth rippling because one ripple is always greater than zero.
Until next week, remember to Pause Breathe Reflect and have fun storming the castle!
